Plans for Fonner Park to redevelop the racing facility to house the temporary Grand Island Casino were approved by the Nebraska Race and Games Commission.
Construction of the temporary Grand Island Casino will begin immediately in the Fonner Park lobby. It offers 300 slot machines, horse racing kiosks, simulcasts, a small area with snack bars, and an elite casino resort club. Table games such as blackjack, craps and roulette will be added in 2023.
