Learning to code is difficult. It’s doable, but it’s difficult.

Learning to code a Bitcoin and block chain application is even harder. Not only do you need to understand programming, but you also need to be able to wrap your mind around new concepts that only a very few number of people understand.

“But Matt! I want to learn how to build a Bitcoin application! What do I do?”

Don’t worry! We’ve got you covered (and we like your determination!). The Bitcoin community on ZapChain came together and created a list of incredible resources for aspiring Bitcoin developers to use.

1. Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos

This is a new book, really the first of it’s kind, that is tailored completely to developers interested in getting started with Bitcoin and block chain development.

2. Programming Bitcoin Reading List and Projects

This is an incredible resource of Bitcoin knowledge. You are literally going to click the link to check this out and your immediate reaction will be “Holy crap! This is too awesome, I don’t even know how I’m going to look through all of this amazing content”.

If you want to learn about programming, mining, sidechains, proof of work, colored coins… anything. You will find what you are looking for here.

3. Blockchain University

This looks amazing. It is a free course that will teach block chain development to anyone who is interested. It hasn’t launched yet, but based on the information on the site, this could be one of the best hands on resources for anyone interested in learning to develop Bitcoin applications.

4. Bitcoin.org

Bitcoin.org has put together a fantastic overview of who Bitcoin’s core developers are, what open source projects you can help build, and where you can find fellow Bitcoin developers to collaborate with and learn from.

5. Chain, Blockcypher, Block.io, Coinbase, and BitPay

These are all APIs specifically designed for Bitcoin. Each API comes with it’s own unique set of features and documentation. These companies in total have raised well over $50M in funding.
